DRIVE LIKE YOUR KIDS LIVE HERE
As part of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office continuing crime prevention and education efforts, the sheriff’s office is now offering their new “Drive Like Your Kids Live Here” yard signs to remind motorists to please drive safely, especially where kids live and play.
This durable sign and stand, which is purchased with crime prevention funds, is free to people who live in Nassau County, and will serve as a subtle reminder for motorists to observe and obey all traffic laws.
Driving is one of the most dangerous things most people do every day so it is important to obey speed limits, wear seat belts, don’t drink & drive or drive distracted in order to reduce the crashes injuries and fatalities that occur.
Nassau County is growing rapidly and there is more traffic on our roadways so it is imperative that we all do our part to make our community safer.
We do have certain rules that must be followed in order to receive a sign:
• Limit – One per household, please
• Available for homeowners in Nassau County
• Must comply with any Nassau County or city sign ordinances
• Please respect homeowner’s association rules
• Please do not place signs on public rights-of-way, near intersections that might affect visibility, or placing signs in “every yard in the neighborhood.”
• Make sure signs do not interfere with visibility for backing out of driveways.
