Lieutenant Jon Slebos recently had the opportunity of a lifetime as he held a swearing-in ceremony for J.R., the puppet, at Yulee elementary School. Dr. Terry Horn (Also known as Uncle Sam) a ventriloquist presented a program to the kids on a variety of safety topics, as well as law enforcement appreciation. At the end of the program Lt. Slebos was called up on stage to swear in J.R. as an “Honorary Deputy.”
