A huge THANK YOU goes to Pastor Dwight Allen of the Anchor Church and Paul Schwend of Schwend Insurance in Callahan for hosting First Responders Appreciation Day on Saturday, January 12, 2018 at the fellowship hall of Anchor Church.
They served up a great barbecue dinner to all surrounding employees (current and retired) of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, Nassau County Fire/Rescue, Florida Highway Patrol, Jacksonville Fire/Rescue and Florida Division of Forestry. Meals were also delivered to the Callahan, Hilliard and Bryceville fire stations, as well as the Florida Agricultural Station at Hilliard and St. George.
In addition to the pulled pork barbecue, they had potato salad, baked beans, bread, drinks and bread pudding for desert. We would also like to thank all of the many volunteers who helped make the lunch something special.
