Safe Kids Academy

The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office is proud to offer the NCSO Safe Kids Academy. This three hour academy provides practical instruction to children ages 5 through 8 on Stranger Awareness, Dialing 911, Internet Safety, Home Safety, Anti Bullying and Fire Safety. The academy is provided free of charge and is limited to the first 20 students.

The NCSO Safe Kids Academy is conducted in a classroom setting. Children receive hands on practical experience in the six major topics of instruction, which will be taught by Sheriff’s Office Deputies. Children will learn self-defense techniques, practice dialing “911″ where the child will communicate with a pre-recorded dispatch system, learn about Stranger Awareness, Internet safety, Anti Bullying and will participate in a Fire Safety drill.

At the completion of the class, children will graduate with a certificate; receive an educational coloring book and a grab bag. Children are asked to dress comfortably in a t-shirt, comfortable pants and tennis shoes.
