Deputies are available for private hire during their off-duty hours at the request of citizens, organizations and businesses within the county. These deputies can assist the community by providing a variety of law enforcement services.
These services include but are not limited to:
- Funeral Escorts
- Private Functions
- Social Events
- Business Security
- Construction Projects
- Special instruction on specific law enforcement related topics
- Community Security
Rates for Off Duty Services:
Deputy $35.00 / Hour (2 hour minimum)
Supervisor $40.00 / Hour (2 hour minimum)
A supervisor is mandatory if five or more deputies are required for any given function or event.
Applying For Off-Duty Deputy Services
Procedure for hiring an off-duty Deputy is as follows:
- Contact Special Operations Coordinator Lt. Renee Graham at (904) 548-4028 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also fax your request to (904) 548-4128. Your request must be submitted seven days in advance from the date services are required. Any services requiring shorter notice must be approved by the Special Operations Division Captain.
- Upon receipt of the request, the Special Operations Coordinator will contact you in order to discuss the function or event details and verify all information.
Payment arrangements will be made with the Off-Duty Coordinator prior to function or event approval.
Non-compliance with the payment policy, without prior arrangements, will result in cancellation of services.
Cancellations must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled detail. If the detail is cancelled or rescheduled less than twenty four hours in advance, the two hour minimum charge per Deputy scheduled will apply.
