Nassau County, FL – Sheriff Bill Leeper, joined by the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners and U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean, officially cut the ribbon today on the new Nassau County Public Safety Training Complex, marking a major milestone in advancing training for first responders in our growing community.
The new state-of-the-art facility provides a dedicated space for local public safety agencies—including NCSO deputies—to train in a variety of essential skills. The complex features:
“This is a game changer for the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Bill Leeper. “It allows us to train better, more often, and with other agencies. Every day people are moving to Nassau County, and it’s important for us to keep up with that growth. This training complex will allow public safety to serve our citizens better.”
The new training building represents Phase Two of a multi-phase project. The $7.95 million facility was made possible through a combination of funding:
Phase One, which included a gun range, was completed in July 2022 with a $1.6 million investment using federal funds.
The County and NCSO are now in the design phase for Phase Three—a law enforcement K-9 training facility—which will be funded through a combination of legislative grants and federal support.
This 40-acre complex off CR-108 has been years in the making and stands as a major investment in the safety, preparedness, and professionalism of Nassau County’s public safety personnel.
