On Monday, January 28, 2019, Sheriff Bill Leeper read a book to 5th grade students at Yulee Elementary School as part of the Florida Department of Education’s Celebrate literacy week. As a guest reader, Sheriff Leeper had the opportunity to let students know the importance of reading and in order to reach their full potential, they must continually hone essential reading and literacy skills. Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is a week-long celebration each January designed to raise awareness about the importance of literacy and to inspire Florida’s students and families to make reading a part of their daily routines.
