Yulee, Fla. – On February 22, 2013, Sheriff Bill Leeper attended the National Missing Persons Day event held by the Justice Coalition at Jacksonville City Hall. The event and news conference was held to honor those who are missing and to show support for the families of those who continue to search for their loved one. Sheriff Leeper was joined by family members of Jacquelyn “Jackie” Lorraine Markham, who has been missing from Callahan, FL, since December 14, 2000.
On December 14, 2000, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Lorraine Markham was reported to be missing from the Callahan area. Mrs. Markham was last seen in the drive-thru of Eckerds Drugs in Callahan. Mrs. Markham’s vehicle was located at her residence at the time of the report of being missing. Although multiple persons of interest have been interviewed, extensive searches completed and many leads followed to fruition, this case remains pending and foul play is suspected. This case was recently followed up on after the airing of ‘Disappeared’, an Investigation Discovery television special, on January 30, 2013, spotlighting this case; however, no sustainable information was obtained.
This case is being highlighted to remind the community of who Mrs. Markham is and what she means to us. By showing her information again, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office hopes that it will bring a new lead by encouraging those who may know something to report it.
