Special Response Team
The Nassau County Special Response Team (SRT) is tasked with responding to incidents involving barricaded subjects and hostage situations. They also serve high risk warrants and conduct dignitary protection details when required. All members of the SRT Team are required to attend a basic SWAT school and have two mandatory training days a month thereafter. Members are also sent to specialty training courses such as less lethal, marksman (sniper), tactical hand gunning and shoot house training, provided by recognized training organizations.
