Female Arrested for Attempted Murder of Her Husband

Female arrested for attempted murder of her husband

Yulee, Fla. – On May 29, 2018, at approximately 1:30 PM, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office responded to American Beach at 95575 Burney Road Fernandina Beach in reference to a person who was shot.  When deputies arrived they observed a 58 year old male victim, Tony Brown, who lived at the address, on the floor lying in a pool of blood resulting from a gunshot wound to the back of his head.  The Nassau County Fire/Rescue arrived and he was eventually air-lifted by Trauma One to UF-Health Hospital in Jacksonville with critical injuries.

A .38 caliber revolver was found in the bedroom.  After conducting their investigation and interviewing the suspect, Mr. Brown’s wife, Lawanda Brown, 57 who also lived at the address, was arrested by NCSO deputies for Attempted Murder and taken to the Nassau County Jail.

Prior to the shooting they were both working in the loft of their home where they share an office for their consulting business.  According to the suspect, her husband asked her to perform a Google search for a template for a project they were working on.  While searching for the template the suspect said she could hear a tone in her husband’s voice that he was not happy with how she was searching.  She said it was all a blur as the victim started walking out of the loft prior to being shot.
